Earth is home planet of Humanity. It is within the Goldilocks zone and is there for habitable.


Earth is located within the Sol solar system. It is the third planet from the Sun (Sol). It is the only known planet on which complex, sentient life has evolved, although Proto-Human has appeared on Carpathia. When on Carpathia it can be found by looking 23 degrees above north when in Forthaven.


Earth is the only planet in the solar system whose English name does not derive from Greek/Roman mythology. The name derives from Old English and Germanic. There are, of course, hundreds of other names for the planet in other languages. In Roman Mythology, the goddess of the Earth was Tellus - the fertile soil (Greek: Gaia, terra mater - Mother Earth).


The Earth is 4.6 billion years old and has a surface area of 197 million square miles. The Earth's diameters is 12,742 kilometers. (7,926 miles) and average orbital period of 365.25 days. The Earth's axis has a tilt of about 23 ½ degrees. It is this tilt which causes the seasons.
